Best Pizza

I vote for Lynwood Cafe in Randolph. Boy, do I miss their pizza! I even had a friend Fed Ex me overnight a half baked Lynwood! Not quite the same as eating it there but it was good.

You know, it is sad, but I have yet to find a pizza place that uses sauce as good as Papa Ginos. Too many of 'em use that quasi-sweet sauce I can't stand.

The Lynwood is one of the WORST pizza spots in the Greater Boston area! Oh MAN, how I used to loathe going there after work late at night. But, the boss was buying, so it wasn't my say.

Honestly, there are a thousand great spots, but my favorite will always be Little Stevie's, on Boylston over by the Berklee School of Music Retahds. Arguably the most gigantic slices of pizza in the world.

      Al Capones isn't that bad.

I from Wmass. There is definately a disconnect in Pizza style from there and Boston. I haven't really found anything I've liked all that much in town

      This goes for Mexican too

Little Stevies...damn, that's right. I forgot about them. Their slices were so big you could use one as an umbrella.

My favorites currently are those italian-style pizza places that offer "double dough": Cafe Capri in Reading and Ty's Pies in Framingham.

Also, for those of you who like the exact opposite of a thick, doughy crust, try the unbelievable Tripoli's pizza in Lawrence (and Seabrook, NH, if I'm not mistaken). This is a drive, but a real treat...very, very unique.

Wow, I have never heard of anyone not liking Lynwood, until you posted. Oh I'd given anything for one of their pizzas.

I don't get it -- anytime people mention the Lynwood's pizza, they talk of it as if the Virgin Mary herself were making it. Do they put crack in the cheese or what?

Then, I'd be over a friends house, and somebody show's up with about 8 pies of Lynwood pizza, and I can't stop thinking of that Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom moment -- where the starving Indian village feeds them bugs and gunk, and Indy's all like, "I don't care if you don't like it, EAT IT! It's like a feast for them, and they're starving!"

I grew up about 1/2 a mile from Lynwoods and I believe they MUST put crack in it...Love the pizza..Town Spa rules as well. I fly home and get all the time.

Lynwood is horrible...the first time i had it i said it was the worst pizza I ever had, but that didn't stop me from getting it over and over cos I was living around the corner, and after a while it grew on me, and sometimes I take trips back there just to have the pizza

I'm a former Bostonian living in Florida. In my home town, Holliston, we had a place called Table Top Pizza. I'm not sure if it's still there, but it was greasy, and so yummy. What I'd do for a slice with extra cheese. My second is Papa Ginos. Jukebox on your table.

The Town Spa (spah) in Canton is great. I live in JP and Same Old Place has great pizza but for gourmet or alternative pies, you can't beat Bella Luna, both in JP.

If you are ever drunk late at night in the fanuel Hall area there is a liquor store back behind the oyster house that serves pizza. I am usually very drunk and very hungry so it always tastes GREAT

I can't believe nobody has talked about the little hole in the wall over in the north end. I forget the name cause I've been in Japan for the last 3 years, but its on that little street across from dunkin. Im talking about great italian pizza, and ask for a slice and you get a 1/4 pie cut in two...

For all you Bay Area ex-Mass People...I found Amici's in Mountain View! It's a slightly Burned Crust Pizza. It's like Papa Gino's with small pepperoni's...It's pretty darn good! Reminds me of home anyway..

Funny! I'm currently on work release.
It's weird how that went from a sleepy town known for the state pen (actually, only the front door, most of the jail is in Norfolk) to such an upscale suburb.
We lived on Lewis Ave...it was a cute street.

One of the absolute bittersweet loves of my life lives there (Walpole, not the jail) on Teal Circle.

Funny how that use to be just some exit on 128 and now is such a family community.

There's a couple of nice places in JP, the Dogwood and Zon's.
The Dogwoog is an eclectic joint near Forest Hills train station with a wood-fired brick oven and a rather avant-garde menu. I like the palm (priciutto and pineapple) with the sauteed arctihoke hearts appetizer and a couple of guinesses. Zon's is more traditional but the sauce and cheese combinations are very yummy. I miss Whole Wheat Pizza in Amherst during college, nobody makes a whole wheat dough anymore. Pizza party? My treat Sandy!

                          Yeah HAPPY !

You know what I really miss ? The Cape. Before it got all modern and uppity. I use to love to spend summers on the Cape. Beach all day...Hyannis all night. I got into bars long before I was legal and it was just FUN. Although, I am most likely romancing the memory, but still.

When I was going to school I used to have a little studio apartment right near that area Dr. Abby. I shared it with a little mouse. I'd be studying and the thing would scurry across the floor.

How are you liking it there ? Have you settled in ?

Santarpio's in Eastie is good but...some day you've all gotta go to Tony's at the corner of Spring and Baker Streets in West Roxbury. Real good stuff. Espresso in WR is good too, but Tony's is my preference.

What about Pino's near Boston College/Cleveland Circle?

the best pizza was Bucky's in Saugus, Ma. The owner went on to do other things back in the late 80's; the new owners killed it. They didn't overcook the damn pizza like everyone else. Lots of cheese, yet not very oily. I miss Bucky's....

Santarpio's blows. That place is an overrated dump. They used to do great steaktips and now they just do lamb fat. They really suck all around and are surviving on how good they used to be. Any time I went there, the staff was arguing with eachother; often confused, forgetful. The place was never clean. I felt like I was visiting disfunctional relatives that we generally try to avoid.

The European used to be pretty decent pizza til they got shut down. Nick and Gus; what a pair.
